About

Cristina Forever is all that’s fit to digitally print about Cristina Henríquez (she/her), a human living in the American Midwest. Here you can find my résumé, some of my fun(ny) digital projects, and some of my writing.

A collage of my gender identity.

I am a TV queen (check out my website: teeveeClub.com) who also loves music, books, movies, political wonkery, philosophy, podcasts, skincare, fashion, drag queens, cooking, hens (not cooking hens), museums, and toile (in that order, probably).

I’m academically interested in media and cultural studies (particularly digital culture), critical theory, intersectional feminism, and existentialism. My liberal arts education in the College of Letters & Science at the University of Wisconsin – Madison featured a major in Communication Arts with an emphasis in Radio, TV, and Film and certificates (what we Badgers call a minors) in Digital Studies and European Studies emphasizing Scandinavian, British, and French cultural history, literature, and film.

My professional work has almost exclusively been in museums (one time I worked at a top global tech company…just to see).

My favorite music was made between the 1970s – early ’90s: glam rock, disco, punk, post-punk, jangle pop, new wave, no wave, shoegaze. I make incredible playlists (check them out on Spotify).

While Spanish was my first language, I speak, write, and think better in English. I learned French so I could watch movies of la nouvelle vague without having to read all the subtitles.

I’m always the Helena, never the Hermia (often a Brontë, sometimes an Austen).

Being tall and wearing glasses (Mr. Magoo vibes) are big parts of my identity.

I’m terrible at sports but a Black Belt in Karate.

I feel most alive when I’m dancing.

I’m a Libra.✌🏽
